Description
EMB Military Pty Ltd (JJ1 Holdings Trust Pty Ltd) aims to provide the newest and most effective innovations and technologies through a computerised helmet and smart intelligent visor that will revolutionise safety during military exercises and on the battlefield.
The heads-up display on the lightweight armour/ballistic-proof helmet features a smart intelligent visor (including anti-fog capability). Once identification of the Combatant’s left eye has been made, communication systems are activated. Through voice recognition technology, and a sensor designed to detect whether the Combatant is under duress from the enemy, the Combatant can gain access to all maps.
Integrated intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities, using quantum technologies, will enable all Combatants to view on the heads-up display the location of all personnel on the battlefield and their direction of travel at any given time. Troop positions during operational manoeuvres can be visually displayed. The battlefield map will also show all military vehicles, vessels, and aircraft involved in the operation. The icons used will replicate existing military symbols used on plans and maps. Initially, icons will be allocated for medics, Combatants, signal operators, Officers in Charge (OIC), and Second-in-Command (2IC) personnel on all Combatants’ visors.
These patents have the potential to save thousands of lives on and off the battlefield.
Warning indicators will also be included on the heads-up display to alert Combatants to radiation or landmines within a 10-metre radius. Warning notifications are transmitted via drones to each helmet’s Smart Intelligence Visor, as well as to military vehicles, tanks, and vessels operating on the battlefield. The drone software is designed to detect landmines regardless of whether they use metal or plastic activation pins. A message displayed on the heads-up display provides an internal alert through the earmuffs, warning the Combatant of the danger. Voice commands will also enable the intelligent visor to provide infrared and night-vision capabilities. The helmet will incorporate directional hearing, allowing the Combatant to hear sounds and voices from both the right and left sides.
Medics are notified via their smart intelligent visors when a Combatant has been injured. They are provided with the injured Combatant’s location and ECG results, assisted by quantum technologies and 5G communications.
The Medic can receive assistance through a video link displayed on the heads-up display from a medical specialist advisor, together with the most appropriate evacuation plan for the injured Combatant. Research has revealed that a high percentage of Combatants on battlefields during the two World Wars died before medical assistance could reach them due to uncertainty regarding their exact location.
The biosensory garment will transmit data from its microprocessor to both the Medic and the hospital. Through voice command, all Combatants will have access to the heads-up display and will be able to view live graphical information showing fellow Combatants on the battlefield, including their Corps, Unit, Battalion, Company, and direction of travel.
The biosensory garment incorporates sensors throughout the entire garment. If a Combatant is injured, the microprocessor receives data from the garment indicating the extent of the injuries. If necessary, a tourniquet can be automatically applied to a limb to control severe bleeding. The garment includes a pump that activates under the command of the microprocessor.
Combatants are equipped with voice-commanded intelligent visors featuring infrared and night-vision capabilities. The helmet will also provide directional hearing, enabling the Combatant to hear sounds and voices from both the right and left sides.
Key features include:
- One or more biometric sensors capable of detecting physiological parameters of ADF personnel.
- The EMB Military Helmet/Smart Intelligence Visor will meet MIL-STD-461 electromagnetic interference requirements.
- A microprocessor controller adapted to control the projection of geographical location data and physiological parameters onto the heads-up display.
- A visor incorporating smart or intelligent functionality in response to voice-activated instructions and eye identification, including activation of night-vision and infrared display modes.
- A visor that is retractable into the helmet shell.
- A heads-up display that can be projected onto an eye-patch screen positioned in front of one of the Combatant’s eyes.
- Biometric sensors that may include a galvanic skin response detector adapted to monitor heart rate and related physiological indicators.
- Chemical and biological warfare sensors capable of detecting radiation and hazardous gases. Upon detection, the breathing apparatus can be activated immediately.
- Live video and integrated torch functionality on each helmet.
Our goal is to reduce human error through fatigue management systems and multiple combined and unique technologies designed to save lives and prevent serious injury. The provision of a computerised triage assessment immediately following an injury aims to reduce the “Golden Hour” between the initial injury and hospital treatment.
